March 2, 2012

Dear Fellow Henryville Alumni,

Our beloved school was hit by the deadly F-4 tornado that came through our community on Friday afternoon.  All current and former classmates are in a state of shock and the images that are coming out are nothing short of jaw dropping.  In the weeks and months to come we will see clean up, we will see rebuilding, we will witness a coming together of alumni to assist and reminisce.  Our school is still standing strong but broken.  Our school is made up of so much more than brick and mortar.  Our school is made of our hearts, our minds, our successes.  That school nurtured us (some from little children) into adults who made our way out into the world.  Our school produced many successes but more than that it produced a camaraderie of spirit that, when tested, melds into a whole that could rival any storm that which threatened to eliminate it completely.

Stay strong, Henryville Alumni.  Our school is not done.

Bless all who were affected and are still being affected.
